The interns for the Cambridge Public Health Department are comprised of 9th-12th grade students who are committed to raising awareness for youth mental health and making sure that there is an adequate amount of support for youth. We did not start or create this amazing website, we simply updated it to stay with the time and reflect the issues of today.
The Cambridge Youth Council (CYC) Mental Health subcommittee was a smaller division of the CYC. After reviewing the 2022 Teen Health Survey, they found their concerns about youth mental health were supported by data. Students were struggling, highlighting the need to address rising anxiety, depression, and related issues.
Their goal was to create a more accessible and helpful resource for youth. Today, this website continues to be aimed at supporting young people, complement other efforts, and help address increasing mental health challenges while making youth feel seen and heard through a project led by their peers.
